Y12 Media exam: Paper 2: Learner response

Create a new blogpost on your Media Coursework blog called 'Media Paper 2 learner response' and work through the following tasks:

1) Type up your feedback in full (you do not need to write the mark/grade if you do not wish to).

EBI = more explained analysis of ideology - assumption, values being promoted...  and some confusion over texts and not really grasping the key terminology in the question - distribution and consumption

2) Read the mark scheme for this exam carefully (posted on your exam teacher's Google Classroom), paying particular attention to the the 'indicative content' for each question. Firstly, focus on the unseen question and identify two aspects of the poster that you could have written about in your answer.

3) Look at the indicative content for Q1 again and make a note of any theories or examples of media terminology you could have used in your answer.

4) Now focus on the TV 25-marker. Read this exemplar response for the TV question and pick out three arguments, phrases or theories from the essay that you could use in a future question on Capital and Deutschland 83.

The elements of crime and family drama all set around one London street creates a sense of authenticity that could unconsciously communicate certain ideologies to its mainstream BBC audience.

In conclusion, it is impossible to ignore the ideological positions constructed by television dramas and Capital and D83 are no exception to this. 

However, it could be argued that different audiences can read these fictional genres in different ways depending on their own perspectives and therefore social, cultural and political contexts are not the only aspect to this process.

5) Finally, identify three things you need to revise for Media Paper 2 before your next assessment of mock exam.

Film and TV Language

  Bladerunner  -  1)The genre of the film poster is sci-fi and action.  2)This is because the posters facial expressions of the characters show the amount of aggresion. The poster shows an  enigma code  because it makes us think .As well as this the title 'Blade runner' shoes the idea that the protagonists could be running away from something which shows the action.The  colour schemes  of the building symbol the idea that the film could contain futueristic scenes.  Blue, white and black. 3)Overall I think that the film is about   h umans vs robots   and the action between them.
